Ben Affleck once said his strangest filmmaking experience was acting in the Jenny From the Block music video. “Nothing makes any sense in music videos,” Affleck told Jay Leno as the talk show host daydreamed of denim.

The actor was so conflicted he went on to star in eight shitty movies over the next eight years — Daredevil, Gigli, Paycheck, Jersey Girl, Surviving Christmas, Man About Town, Hollywoodland & State of Play.

But he was right. And today’s wire-thin budgets, overt product placements and social media-skewed shots mean music videos are more confusing than ever. However, as with any production, the worst part of the process is always the people.

Enjoy this quick and pleasant peek into the world of millennial music video filmmaking with a funny clip from Daniel Iglesias, Jr. WARNING: It may hit too close to home if you’ve ever worked with the Buzzfeeds of the world.
